The Arts

Visual Arts

The visual arts program works to develop students' confidence in their creative expression by building skills and teaching techniques in a variety of media. Emphasis is given to creative problem solving, art history and experimentation. Often art projects are integrated with the subjects studied in academic programs.

The students work in a wide range of artistic mediums including painting (tempera, acrylic, watercolors and oils), printmaking (mono-printing, linoleum cut, screen printing and foam board), sculpture (armature building, plastina, and papier-mache), clay (potter’s wheel and hand-building), and drawing (observational and imaginary with charcoal, pencil, oil pastel, and pastel.)

Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts program strengthens positive dynamics, and enhances communication skills in a multi-sensory manner. Students learn to build leadership abilities, while students explore the elements of musical play production, performing techniques that include singing, dancing, scripted acting and improvisation, instrument playing, as well as an introduction to technical theater and stage craft. Essentially, the school's Performing Arts program instills each child with a sense of confidence, encourages self expression, creative risk taking, and active learning while developing an appreciation for the performing arts.
