The Maple Street School Library is an inviting and welcoming space. It houses a collection of nearly 10,000 titles. The collection is automated with Readerware. Students in grades K-4 have regularly scheduled classes of 30 minutes, once-a-week. Students in grades 5-8 use the library and its collection to support academic work, pleasure reading, and independent study time. Maple Street School, an independent K-8 day school located in Manchester, Vermont, is currently seeking an Assistant Teacher to work in our Lower School division. We are looking for a flexible, energetic individual to work with a wide variety of students, teachers and classrooms from Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. This position includes working across the curriculum on a wide array of academic subjects including language arts and mathematics. Responsibilities will include working with students in small groups, as well as providing key one on one academic support to individual students. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with students in grades K-4 while also collaborating with fellow teachers on designing and implementing age-appropriate curricula. At this time we are willing to consider this position as either part-time or full-time. Maple Street School is seeking to hire a person to staff its after school program for children in grades Kindergarten through Grade 4. The program runs Monday through Thursday every day there is school from 3:10 pm to 5:15 pm. On a typical afternoon, there are 12 students in this program each afternoon. The program coordinator is responsible for overseeing a range of activities ranging from playing on the playground to assisting with homework. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children (K-4 experience preferred) in a camp or school setting. The program begins in early September and runs through early June, excluding school vacations.
