During January, February and March, we have half day on Friday so that our students can participate in JISP, KAP, or MiniKAP programs. JISP began as a way to provide local school children an inexpensive way to learn to ski. Today, the Bromley Outing Club teaches local students from a variety of schools, and Maple Street School’s day on the mountain is Friday. Other programs have since emerged including skating lessons at Riley rink and art lessons at the Southern Vermont Art Center. Friday afternoons are times for Maple Street School students to participate in these programs. While these are not Maple Street Programs, our school is happy to provide release time on Friday afternoon so that students can participate. The cost of these programs is between $90 - $200 for ten days of lessons throughout the season. In addition, there are numerous Sunday afternoons that the students can ski or ride at Bromley on their JISP pass and two exchange days at Stratton.
All information for JISP, KAP, and Mini-KAP can be found on the Bromley Outing Club's website. Go to: http://bromleyoutingclub.org/boc/programs/jisp/.
The JISP Coordinator for Maple Street is Andrea Salo. You can reach her at: andreaburry@yahoo.com with any questions.
